Greek Meze at Avli tou Vasilea, Limassol

Meze includes the following:

Cold appetizers: Greek Pitta, Village salad, Tzatziki, Tirokaſteri, Melitzanosalata, Fava

Warm appetizers: Oven baked aubergine with feta cheese and yoghurt, Kolokithokeſtedes (zucchini fritters), Saganaki (pan fried kefalotiri cheese with honey)

Hot dishes: Soutzoukakia (meatballs with tomato sauce and rice, Grilled Pork marinated in wine and crushed coriander, Grilled Boneless Chicken, Souvlaki pork kebabs, Lamb Kebab and Fries)

Dessert: Homemade walnut cake with masticha ice cream

✔ All meats were juicy
✔ Personal favourites were the Tirokafteri, Kolokithokeftedes, Baked Aubergine , Chicken and Souvlaki
✔ Masticha ice cream gives great freshness to the dessert after such a meal!
✔  Excellent service
✔ Lovely environment - coloured and cosy courtyard in an old house  on Ayiou Andreou Str.

✘ Too much red onion in the salad (even more than tomatoes!)
✘ Fava was not very strong flavoured
✘ Although a favourite, this time the saganaki was served cold. We were disappointed...

  • Will we be reordering? Yes, a good option if you fancy a Greek meze, instead of the usual Cypriot one.
