Hallumi Fries

Brie Burger

Bulgari
Knafeh

Variety of Lebanese Dishes at Sousami, Larnaca

We tried the following: hallumi fries, brie burger, bulgari, knafeh

  • Halloumi Fries - Deep fried halloumi fingers in a basket, drizzled with sweet glaze, red chili flakes, mint leaves & pomegranate, served with chili yogurt dip

✔ Halloumi fries were yummy, especially in combination with the yogurt dip
✔ The mint leaves added some freshness, which contrasted the saltiness of the halloumi fries

  • Brie Burger - Beef patty, brie cheese, lettuce, onions, topped with blueberry jam & slices of green apple, served with fries.

✔ The meat was juicy
✔ Bun was toasted
✔ Love the combination of brie, blueberry jam and green apple. The acidity of the apple balances well the sweetness of the jam.
✔ The fries were freshly fried and the spices made them really yummy!

✘ Given the variety of juices in the dish (burger and blueberry jam), a recommendation would be for the bun to be thicker in order to be able to absorb them before breaking down
✘ Raw onion was a bit too much

  • Bulgari - Sirene cheese, mixed with tomatoes, onion & olive oil

✔ Toasting of the dough was good, without it being burned
✔ Tomato gives the dish some freshness

  • Knafeh - Lebanese dessert of melted cheese with bread crumbs & semolina, topped with sugar syrup
✔  Certainly an interesting dessert that we've never tried before

✘ Needed more syrup to make it more dessert-y

Recommendation: Our favourite from the above were the hallumi fries and the brie burger!
