Baba Ghannoush

Hummus

Fatoush

Lahmajoun

Variety of Lebanese Dishes at Sousami, Larnaca

We'll share our experience in two different posts. We tried the following: Baba Ghannoush, Hummus, Lahmajoun and Fatoush.

  • Baba Ghannoush - Eggplant with tahini, olive oil, spices & herbs, served with lebanese bread, tomatoes, olives
✔ It was the first time we've tried such a dish and it has certainly become a favourite!
✔ Love the combination of eggplant with tahini
✔ Dish was creamy

  • Hummus - Mashed chickpeas with tahini sauce, olive oil and sesame seeds, served with Lebanese bread, tomatoes, olives

✔ Dish was creamy
✘ Could use some more garlic

  • Lahmajoun - Minced meat with spices, tomatoes and onions
✔ Toasting of the dough was good, without it being burned
✔ Lamb meat was used, as done traditionally (and not pork, as mainly done in Cyprus)
✔ Packed with flavours due to the variety of spices

  • Fatoush Salad- Romaine lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, onions, mint, parsley, purslane & radish
✔ Good combination of veggies, love the addition of radish
✘ The spices in the salad made it a bit heavy

Overall:
✔ Very good service
✔ Cosy place dominated by turquoise colours, located in the heart of Larnaca

  • Recommendation: Our favourite from the above were the Baba Ghannoush and the Lahmajoun!
